The BVI Beacon is a weekly newspaper covering stories throughout the British Virgin Islands (Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Anegada). The Beacon is based in Road Town, Tortola.
One of two general reporters covering everything deemed to be newsworthy by the editor, a BVI islander with a journalism degree from Columbia . First assignment was a midday meeting of the local Bahai chapter, attended by five people. Also covered UNICEF Sewing Circles, drug smugglers’ trials, reggae concerts and hurricanes. Contributed to New York Times travel section article on hurricane damage on Tortola and nearby islands
