At TxDOT, we are constantly seeking out data to inform the work we do. Whether that’s planning a new project, testing roadway materials, or performing a bridge inspection, data provides us with insights on safety, efficiency, and much more. In the same way we use data to inform our work, data can be a powerful tool in transforming our personal health as well.
With TxDOT’s free preventive health screenings, employees are able to gain valuable insights on key health indicators. Knowing your numbers can help you to catch health issues before they become serious problems and can help to inform lifestyle choices for your personal health goals.
employee interview part one
Our confidential wellness screening will provide you with a detailed evaluation of your current health, including baseline numbers for key risk factors such as cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose, and blood pressure, as well as liver screenings and A1C for people with diabetes. A nurse practitioner will review your family health history and screening numbers with you to identify risk factors and suggest guidelines for improving your health.
employee interview part two
This screening does not take the place of a doctor’s visit but helps you manage your health between visits. Appointments last about 30 minutes and employees do not need to use leave time to participate. Employees must be enrolled in HealthSelect of Texas Blue Cross Blue Shield and have a primary care physician on file.
employee interview part three
Know your numbers. Whether it’s at home or at work, insightful data keeps us informed and planning for the road ahead. Whether you are planning a highway or planning to improve your health, accurate numbers are the key to success.
At TxDOT, our staff is our greatest asset, and we want you to provide you with the resources to enjoy a healthy and rewarding time as a TxDOT employee.
